Theodore Dalrymple is a physician who regularly sees patients in an English prison. He is a contributing editor of City Journal, a columnist for the London Spectator, and a frequent contributor to the Daily Telegraph.

Richard E. Morgan is William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Constitutional Law and Government at Bowdoin College. He is at work on a book about the Supreme Court in the 1980s, Constitutional Conservatism: The Counterrevolution That Couldn’t.

Dick Netzer is a professor of economics and public administration at the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. He has written widely on the policy and economics of transportation and on other aspects of public policy in New York.

Roger Scruton is a writer and philosopher living in England. His books include Sexual Desire, The Aesthetics of Architecture, and Xanthippic Dialogues. He is a regular contributor to the London Times and editor of the Salisbury Review.

Sol Stern, a contributing editor of City Journal, has written for Commentary and the Wall Street Journal and has served as a policy analyst for the governments of New York City and New York State.

William J. Stern is a contributing editor of City Journal. He chaired Mario Cuomo’s 1982 gubernatorial campaign and from 1983 to 1985 headed the New York State Urban Development Corporation.

James Taranto, departing senior editor of City Journal, is now assistant features editor of the Wall Street Journal editorial page.

Jed Devine is a professor of art at the State University of New York at Purchase. His photographs are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
