Theodore Dalrymple, a physician, is a contributing editor of City Journal and the Dietrich Weismann Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. His current book is Romancing Opiates: Pharmacological Lies and the Addiction Bureaucracy.

Gerry Garibaldi is a writer and teacher who contributes to a number of publications, including the Hartford Courant. After a career in film as both an executive and a screenwriter, he left Hollywood to teach English in an urban high school in Connecticut.

Nicole Gelinas is a contributing editor of City Journal and the Searle Freedom Trust Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. Gelinas is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Kay S. Hymowitz, a contributing editor of City Journal and the William E. Simon Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, is the author of Liberation’s Children and Ready or Not. Her forthcoming book, Marriage and Caste in America, is a collection of her City Journal essays.

Edmund Janko taught in the English department of Bayside High School in New York City from 1957 to 1990, and also served as an adjunct instructor at Queensborough Community College. His essays have appeared in a number of publications, including the New York Times, Newsday, and Education Week.

Heather Mac Donald is a contributing editor of City Journal and the John M. Olin Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. She is the author of Are Cops Racist? and The Burden of Bad Ideas.

Steven Malanga is a contributing editor of City Journal and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. His current book, The New New Left, is a collection of his City Journal essays.

Sol Stern is a contributing editor of City Journal and the author of Breaking Free: Public School Lessons and the Imperative of School Choice.
